It is the intention of CAP and Indiana Wing (INWG) that all publications be written utilizing the concepts of gender neutrality. Therefore, except as required due to gender differences (such as in descriptions of CAP uniforms), all references to one gender should be interpreted to apply equally to both genders.
This publications page is provided to make available all currently published Indiana Wing Publications, including supplements, operating instructions, policy memorandum, interim change letters, indexes, forms, pamphlets, and miscellaneous documents. Use the links on the left to navigate to the type of publication sought. A summary definition of the type of publication is provided below for your reference (as defined in CAPR 5-4, Publications & Forms Management).
Forms are tools used to collect, record, and/or extract information whereby a predetermined set of data fields have been established and defined to meet a definitive CAP purpose or objective. All forms must be prescribed in an official directive publication.
Indexes are the publication that contain a listing of all published publications for the echelon they reflect. All types of publications are recorded in indexes including information about the type of publication, date published, and office of primary responsibility (OPR) for the issued publication.
Interim Change Letters
Interim Change Letters are published to address situations requiring immediate action due to a state of emergency, an unforeseen circumstance involving the preservation of life or property, or other contingencies that may require prompt action.
Operating Instructions (OI) announce local policies or procedures, and direct actions of a local nature within one unit (charter number) or office. OIs are approved by the commander to define policy and/or procedure. OI are similar to regulations in that compliance is mandatory.
Pamphlets are non-directive, informative, “how-to” type publications that may include suggested methods and techniques for implementing CAP policies.
Policy Memorandum are policy letters published by the commander to address a specific issue and communicate a specific commanders intent or policy on a specific issue.
Supplements are auxiliary publications that augment higher headquarters directives and apply to all members of the issuing headquarters and all subordinate units. These publications expand upon national level publications to provide additional guidance when the needs of the wing require additional regulatory guidance.
