Formal, organized training in specific Operations Qualifications or areas

Dates:

  • 19 January 2019Mission Base Staff Clinic – Location TBD – Excellent opportunity to learn more about the workings of Mission Base.  Whether you have specific interest in working at Mission Base or not, this clinic will give you excellent insight and better understanding of why we do what we do, and why we ask what we do of our Ground/UDF Teams and Aircrews.  For those looking to work at Mission Base, a Table Top Exercise may be included, which could include “Exercise Participation” credit.  Check back for more details.
  • 16 – 17 MarchAP/DAART Training – Location TBD – DAARTO (Operator) training will take both days;  DAARTU (User) is a highly abbreviated class for those who may need use of the DAART system at a Mission Base and will likely take place on Sunday morning, only.  Check back for updates.

SAREXs – Watch for sign-up information close to each Operation

ALL Custody Units are expected to participate and utilize their assigned Aircraft and/or Ground Vehicles

Dates:

  • 15 – 17 February – Operation Iceberg – Location TBD – This is “Individualized”, Task-Based training with the focus on the individual member and what he/she needs to accomplish in a specific Operations Qualification.  Members with similar needs will be grouped together.  Members should prepare in advance either on their own by reviewing training materials or attending other training activities (such as “3rd Saturday” events).  Many well-prepared members will normally be able to finish the remaining Tasks and Sorties for OpsQual completion.
  • 3 – 5 May – Operation Vigilant Reach – Location TBD – NOTE:  This SAREX does not fall on the typical “3rd Saturday” weekend. – This SAREX is “Mission” or “Tasking” based and is designed to practice/exercise our ability to complete mission requests by a simulated customer.  Members will be expected to be ready to deploy as soon as Mission Base Staff determine the need for specific resources.  Ground/UDF Teams can be expected to be needed on-site at Mission Base or possibly a remote location.   Aircrews often deploy remotely but may be asked to come to Mission Base for a part, or all, of the Mission weekend.
  • 16 – 18 August – Operation Wandering Caravan – Location TBD – This SAREX is “Mission” or “Tasking” based and is designed to practice/exercise our ability to complete mission requests by a simulated customer.
